Labor Day in the USA is a federal holiday observed on the 1st Monday in September. Labor Day honors the labor movement in the USA and the /contributions workers have made to the growth, development, security, and prosperity of the nation. Labor Day, an annual celebration of workers and their achievements. Traditionally observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day 2021, falls on September 6th.  This is the last major summer holiday for Americans, so let’s celebrate.

Labor Day’s glorious history can be traced back to the late 19th century. This was the period that saw a workers’ revolution with several labor movements and trade unions coming up across the nation. The first parade for Labor Day was observed in New York City. Later, Oregon became the first state to make Labor Day an official public holiday. This was in 1887. When Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, thirty states had already officially celebrated Labor Day. 

Labor Day, as many will say is the unofficial farewell to summer. This long weekend, usually includes the parades, festivals, picnics, fireworks displays and sales. The good news is that we can celebrate this holiday outside and do not expect the pandemic impact. Take out those grills and barbecue with family and friends. We all need a good celebration of life and work.
