Luggage Tags & Locks - 4 Color Process

Garrett Specialties offers Luggage Tags & Locks with full color printing. 4 color process reproduces full-color photographic images. Typical printing presses use 4 colors of ink. 4 color process is a system where a color image is separated into 4 different color values. These colored inks are cyan (blue), magenta (red), yellow and black (the k in cmyk). This is called a color separation and is done with the use of filters and screens. At one time, this was done with photographic film on a graphic arts camera, but is mostly done digitally now. The result is a color separation of 4 images that when transferred to printing plates and sequentially printed on a printing press reproduces the original color image. The "K" in CMYK stands for black since in four-color printing cyan, magenta, and yellow printing plates are carefully aligned with the black key plate. When you use 4 Color processing you will increase retention.
